Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, Greg developed a strong work ethic from a young age. He began working on his family’s farm at just 14, where he spent summers weighing boxes in the fields and winters pruning vines. His family operation, established by his grandfather, focused on growing and shipping table grapes and fresh tree fruit in the heart of California’s Southern Central Valley.
Greg pursued his academic interests in agriculture, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science from Fresno State University. In 1998, he made the move to Sonoma County, where his professional journey in the vineyard industry began. From 1998 to 2007, Greg worked with Gallo, managing vineyard operations and gaining extensive experience in the field.
In 2007, Greg founded Vineyard Ops, a company specializing in custom spraying and mechanical harvesting services for winegrape and olive growers across California. The company operated a fleet of over-the-row tractors, providing vital support to the industry. Vineyard Ops was acquired by Atlas on June 24, 2019 and Greg is currently overseeing specialized equipment and services including planting machines, over-the-row sprayers, harvesters and pre-pruners.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Greg has been happily married for 28 years to his college sweetheart, a local elementary school teacher. They have three children together.
